Senior Adult Ministries, affectionately known as SAM, kicks off each calendar year with a New Year’s Brunch in Garrett Hall on
January 1st. The whole church is invited to attend the brunch. Good food, door prizes, and sometimes entertainment are enjoyed by all. SAM sponsors other activities through the year which have included spring trips to see bluebonnets, shop, attend shows , and visit interesting sites; trips to Midland Community Theater; church van trips to see the Festival of Lights display and other Christmas lights in the city; gatherings in Garrett Hall to celebrate holidays such as Valentine’s, St. Patrick’s Day, Shrove Tuesday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, and Labor Day; barbecues or picnics at Hayes Stripling’s Shoestring Ranch; bingo, hotdogs, and various other activities. SAM’s financial support has aided numerous church groups and activities such as the church’s 125th anniversary celebration, youth ministries, children’s ministries, and church fellowship meals and events.
